Incredible North Devon
The North Devon coast is renowned for its excellent unspoilt beaches offering miles of clean golden sands, clear blue seas surrounded by dramatic cliff faces and rugged headlands. With many of the beaches located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and often surrounded by National Trust land, they offer stunning scenery all year round, regardless of the season.
Head inland a little and you will find sheltered estuaries and picturesque bays surrounded by steep wooded banks and lush Devon countryside.
We run our lessons across 3 locations in North Devon. Being a mobile school allows us to operate at the best location for both your chosen activity and weather conditions. Our favourite lesson locations for Kitesurfing are situated on beaches, which offer shallow and flat waters. This makes them perfect to learn kitesurfing! For paddleboard and wing lessons the local estuaries and inland beaches protect from the Atlantic swell, providing flat water perfection and miles of space.
With uncrowded beaches and miles of unspoiled pristine coastlines, inland waterways and clear water, the North Devon Coast offers perfect conditions for water sports.
Below is more information about our favourite spots.
“Give me a summer’s day on a paddleboard, and I’ll have the best time of my life.”
Westward Ho! Beach
Westward Ho! is an amazing destination for kite sports in the UK. With over two miles of sandy beach there is space for everyone. The large flat sections of water that form in between the waves are perfect for beginners, whereas seasoned riders will enjoy playing in the surf.
When there’s no surf and the wind drops, paddleboarders will love cruising through crystal clear water with views out to Lundy Island and beyond.

Instow Beach
The picturesque seaside village of Instow is located on the banks of a sweeping river estuary and is the meeting point of the rivers Taw and Torridge. Far reaching estuary views, a long, sandy shore and sheltered water make this a haven for water sports. This is our preferred location for teaching both our Wing-foil and Paddleboarding courses. Back on dry land the Tarka Trail and the South West Coast Path both pass through the village, providing some of the region’s most scenic walks and cycle rides.

Little America Beach
Our preferred spot for teaching the majority of our Paddleboarding courses. This section of the Estuary has easy access to the water’s edge and some great views. For beginners we run our courses here around high water for minimal tidal flow. For the more experienced paddler we can use the incoming or outgoing tide to gently push us up or down the river and to go on a little trip. Our route will take you past woodland, rocky coves, boats, villages and even shipwrecks.
How to Find Us
Take the A386 from Bideford to head for Torrington, after approximately half a mile you will see a lay-by on the left where a member of our staff will be ready to meet you at our school trailer and van.
