Calshot Spit
This unique spit of land that’s almost totally surrounded by water offers some of the best Kitesurf and Paddleboarding conditions on the south coast. Large lagoons combined with reliable sea breezes produce perfect conditions for learning to Kitesurf whilst paddleboarders will love cruising along the sheltered waterways and exploring the nearby beauty of the New Forest National park.
We also have the added advantage of being on a private site and so rarely experience crowded beaches.
Calshot Spit is a fantastic location for kitesurfing, Wingfoil and Paddleboarding with different conditions from flat water to rolling swell at high tide
Calshot Spit
Perfect for Kitesurfing, paddleboarding and Wingfoil
Calshot Spit is a one-mile long sand and shingle bank, near the village of Calshot, located on the southern bank of the open end of Southampton Water, on the Hampshire coast.
The beach forms part of a mile long shingle spit which reaches out into the mouth of Southampton Water. From here you get a great view of the ships coming and going from one of the UK’s largest ports.
The beach also offers panoramic views of the Solent, Southampton and the Isle of Wight and is the perfect location for all the Nomadic sports we are specialists in.
On the other side of the spit is an extensive salt marsh which is home to a wealth of birds and other wildlife.
How to Find Us
Find us opposite the 24-7 Boardsports shop. Our mobile school is based just across the road from our friends at 24-7 Boardsports, an established watersports shop that’s situated half way down the Spit at Calshot.
A member of our staff will be ready to meet you at our school trailer and van which is parked opposite the shop and just on the left hand side as you drive through the automated barriers on Calshot spit.
